Is there a suggested room size for pool tables?

The ideal room space for a table, no matter which size table, would need to have five feet of clearance on each side of the table. The reason for this is that a pool cue is just under five feet long. Combine that with the width of the rail, and five feet is proper clearance for play. If you have a tight spot or not exactly five feet of clearance, we have shorter length cues just for such situations.Besides, Maximized playing surface is also the key. Measuring a billiards table is a playing surface measurement. Simply measure from the inside rail points in each direction to determine the true size of your table. For instance an Eight foot table is 44 inches wide by 88 inches long (inside cushion). The average pool cue is 57 inches long.
